Proctosedyl ointment is a topical treatment for hemorrhoids commonly known as hemorrhoids (both external and internal), also for other painful conditions of the rectum, such as rectal fissures (tear), anal itching (itching), and perianal eczema. Proctosedyl ointment reduces pain, swelling, and muscle spasm caused by hemorrhoids and other rectal injuries. Proctosedyl ointment contains a combination of two active ingredients, Cincocaine Hydrochloride 0.5% and Hydrocortisone 0.5%, which work together to revive the symptoms of hemorrhoids. It also contains liquid paraffin,crownmart.pk  white soft paraffin, and wool grease. Proctosedyl ointment contains a combination of two medications that are used as a topical treatment for hemorrhoids. Cincocaine is a local anesthetic with analgesic properties (pain relief) and it also relaxes the spasm of the anal sphincter. Hydrocortisone is a low-potency corticosteroid that reduces inflammation and itching, and this reduces discharge. Together, these two medications in Proctosedyl ointment reduce pain, swelling, and spasm caused by hemorrhoids.

Precautions

The patients with antibiotic-resistant infections, history of tuberculosis, septicaemia (blood infection), chickenpox, measles, psychiatric disorders, renal (kidney) and hepatic (liver) impairment, cirrhosis (abnormal liver condition), active peptic ulcer (intestinal inflammation), myasthenia gravis (muscular disorder), previous steroid-associated muscular abnormality, osteoporosis (weak bones), epilepsy (condition characterized by seizures), heart disorders and abnormalities, blood disorders, glaucoma (high pressure in eye), and elderly should be cautious.
